The color comes from the ingredients (mainly the color of the butter). If your finished cake is raw inside it? needs to be baked a little longer. I find it best to use the toothpick test (insert it into the center of the cake and it should come out clean).

Hi there,i loved this video, i'm a beginner in baking,i wanted to try something simple and thought would use this recipe, i do not have the conventional oven but have a microwave convection oven, i baked this cake on convection? mode for 65mins on 180 degree, but it was a disaster , though i got a brown exterior the interior was uncooked and gooey, this happened previously when i baked an range shiffon cake can you plz help me and let me know the ideal temp to use on convection mode?

Not sure why it would taste bitter. Did you? make sure the baking powder was really mixed into the flour? If the texture of the cake wasn't light, next time I would beat the butter and sugar a little more to incorporate more air which will give the cake more volume.

I don't know whether? I would use the cherries you describe as they are awfully sweet. I've never tried making and storing homemade cake flour. You should be able to. You could maybe make a small batch and store it to see how it works.

Hi Sanya - just to confirm, it came out nice? so it worked? the eggs are fine, it should triple in volume. it may be the quality of the flour. flour changes from one type to another, some flour types have more absorption power than others, so it may be that you needed to add? more flour.

Hi Sanya - in general baking is very precise. so make sure that all? your ingredients are very well measured. I think what went wrong in your experiment is the eggs. did you beat the eggs well? you have to beat them long enough until they become very very thick (as I showed in the video) otherwise, the batter would be liquidy.

I tried this step-by-step and this cake came out so good. I am so proud. Before, I have always flopped on making a carrot cake. It was almost to be a dream come true to make a good carrot cake but I can't believe how delicious this cake came out. This puts the flattest sides of the cakes together creating a better balanced and better looking cake. It should always be done this way. If you have the mound on the bottom,your top layer will rock on it and you will also have to put in a ton of frosting around the edges to make top layer sit flat. The light colour is most attractive, and the rainbow colours of the candied peel and cherries make it very festive. Kids will surely prefer this to a dark heavy cake. Hi Manjula ji I am beginner in microwave cooking. i have tried baking the cake as you told, but failed? badly. can you please reply my below questions, i will be highly thankful to you: i am having IFB 30sc3 microware, i can't set 325 degrees temp, it's not having that option, what else i should try. it's having different power level options to set. what power level i should use for baking cake(i.e 50%, 70%, HI). i use lot of ur recipes 4 my cooking.? as for this cake, thanx 4 the video. when i boil the fruits, i also add cinnamon n nutmeg n my entire house has a aroma. when i fold in the dry fruits, i also add handful of candied cherries (red n green) for the looks. sometimes i throw in a handful of coconut or shredded carrots.

My mother loves cakes and desserts. I always want to bake some specifically for her, but she is insistent they must be egg-less.
